As for you also, because of and for the sake of the [covenant of the Lord with His people, which was sealed with sprinkled] covenant blood, I have released and sent forth your imprisoned people out of the waterless pit. Return to the stronghold [of security and prosperity], you prisoners of hope; even today do I declare that I will restore double your former prosperity to you. Zechariah 9:11-12 (Amplified Bible)
The other morning I had a dream that I was in a huge field with my Pastor and several other members of our church. It was as if Pastor was the Coach (he had a whistle and hat on) We were all suppose to be praying specifically and corporately about something. One leader had the mic and others were walking around praying waiting on more instructions from Pastor but it was 3 Members that were sitting on the sideline on the bench. They had their heads down as to be praying but it was kinda stand offish. Pastor walked over to one of the members and said come on man I need you to get in the game and pray I’m not going to let you sit here anymore and not use your gift. The leader gets up and begins to pray and I mean they prayed but then it was if they were entertaining us because it was outside their character but actually it was just the push they needed to really stir up their gift. Then I woke up.
The Holy Spirit brought the dream back to me a couple of weeks later so I asked him if he would speak to me about what he was saying.
He said it’s COMEBACK time. It’s time to get back in the game. Lay aside offenses, misunderstandings etc. anything that has kept you off the field. Everybody on the team is different but everyone is needed. Rather it’s the person with the mic or the person standing in agreement or the one on the bench they all are needed. When you know the rules of the game you encourage and uplift everyone because we all have the same common goal. A Pastor looks after your soul and encourages you to use your gifts, and they also should be able to rebuke and correct without people grabbing their marbles and going home.
The 3 people that were sitting on the side can represent a numerous of things. I looked up some definitions of sideline and another word for sideline is benched. Collins Dictionary states If you are on the sidelines in a situation, you do not influence events at all, either because you have chosen not to be involved, or because other people have not involved you. Meriam Webster says it’s a line at right angles to a goal line or end line and marking a side of a court or field of play for athletic games. The Word Bench(ed) in Mariam Webster states its a seat on which the members of an athletic team await a turn or opportunity to play (2):the reserve players on a team; broadly :a reserve force.
Those 3 people represented someone ready to get in the game, someone who put themselves their by their own willingness(offended and don’t want to use their gifts anymore) or someone who will not comply with the directives and have to be put out the game for a while.
God is saying wherever you are on the field he wants you to return back to the game physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. Be it in ministry, your marriage, relationships, career, school or etc. God wants you to get off the sidelines and get back in the game. Get back in with a made up mind to stay the course. Always be ready to grab the mic but not in an arrogant ready but a ready to engage and use your gift at anytime. The Leader needs players that are all in, not that are all in their feelings, but that are all in the will of God, Ensuring that the entire team get over to the other side.
Be blessed and have a leave everything on the field kind of day! Shernicka
